Actually, the meaning of Summer Work and Travel USA is to ensure that students from around the world could come to U.S. for summer vacations without compromising their wallets. It means that a participant first works for 3-4 months, and then, after he has earned money, travels around the country. But each one defines what the best for him is – to earn or to see more. Someone combines both.

Indeed, a desire to earn more money distinguishes students from Ukraine. Yes, Work and Travel USA gives you such an opportunity to work simultaneously on two and even three jobs at once. If you have enough forces, of course.

From $0 to $15 000 over four months of work. Someone comes back with large debts (bars, casinos, discos). Others, on the contrary, are very cautious in spending their money. But the majority still has the opportunity to recoup the money invested and earn a bit beyond that. It is very individually. To take an average, all that costs from $ 60 to $ 100 weekly. It happens when an employer provides housing and meals free of charge. But it also happens when a student has to pay $100 per week only for housing. 

It depends much on a person. The requests and demands are all different. Someone is ready to live a few kilometers from the place of work and to sit on a bicycle every morning to catch the beginning of a shift/to be in time at work. At the same time, he is ready to live with 3 other students in a shared room and prepare food himself. Someone prefers a separate room with ocean view in the two-minute walk from work and to have lunch in cozy restaurants. Of course, in the second case costs will be higher.

Of course, rest! You can just lie on the shore and in the sun, you can walk into the mountains to some lost lake all the day, it is possible to rent a car and to go to another city or state, you can visit an amusement park ... Somewhere in September, after the end of summer employment, you can perform the real study of America, having travelled over half of all states. Yes, whatever you like! No, the students who came by Work and Travel USA are paid just like the U.S. citizens.

7. What kind of work can expect our students?  

As a rule, the work in hotels, restaurants, cafes, entertainment parks ... It means any part-time job in the service sector. The American economy requires many thousands of workers as there is a lack of them in the area of service during the summer season. Participants are looking for their second and third job after their arrival in the United States. But it’s necessary for each student to have a job-offer from an American employer before a departure. This Job Offer will be sent to the sponsor of the program in the U.S. for verifying, and then, submitted to the U.S. Consulate for a J-1 visa together with other documents.

As a rule, participants who were denied a visa are about 2-5%. All others are interviewed well and get their visas. Work and Travel Program is supported by Government of the USA, and agencies in Ukraine are trying to select participants according to the quality of the program. Therefore, the percentage of visas issued is sufficiently large. 

People got denied for various reasons. Someone doesn’t know English on the required level; another one just gets confused and is unable to give intelligible answer to a simple question of the Consul. It may be a failure, if you or someone else from your family previously violated the rules of stay in the United States.

You will lose $ 200 from the cost of the program + cost of a job (assuming that you are looking through our company) + consular fee.

No one meets participants of the program Work and Travel who were employed without or with the help of Work and Travel LLC. Each student should get to his employer on his own and live his independent life. An airport pick-up is provided only for participants of the option Placed, for those whose jobs were offered by the sponsor of the program. 

However, all participants of Work and Travel Program should immediately contact the sponsor if they have problems with their employer, police or medical institutions. The host will be able to help either with a deed, or with a piece of advice how it will be better to act in your situation. At the same time you are to inform about the incident the representative of Work and Travel LLC who registered you for the program.

Do not be afraid! Each year thousands and thousands of students, who are participants of this program, are coming to the United States. Before leaving the representatives Work and Travel LLC you will be informed/told in details what awaits you in the States. 

Though, you will have to be independent as there will be no parents or grandparents. Every day you will have to take the tens and hundreds decisions and you will be able to count only on yourselves. That is why Work and Travel USA Program is designed for independent people. Or for those who are willing to become so. 

We recommend you to take no less than $ 500 (at least you must have a minimum, without which you will not be allowed get on the territory of the United States, $475 U.S.). Better even more. You will need money for the first period of time until you start getting paid. You will have to spend money on getting to your employer, on renting housing, on food at last! Usually, students receive a salary through the first 2 or 4 weeks of work. And all this time you will need money to live for.

Of course! Each participant of the Work and Travel Program has his "back and forth” ticket, so you can simply call the toll-free airline and book a flight to Ukraine on the earliest possible date. In this case, you must warn your sponsor that the employer is not against your leaving him. But it happens very rarely, an absolute majority of the students are in delight from their American holidays and even in the fall/autumn they are very reluctant to return home.

No, it is impossible. Each participant of the program Work and Travel USA is obliged to return to Ukraine till an expiration date of the program. These are the conditions of the U.S. Embassy and Consulates. It is impossible to change the status of J-1 visa in the U.S.. If you decide to come to study in an American college or university, or to marry a U.S. citizen, you must return to Ukraine and to submit the appropriate visa category.

Yes, you can attend the 2nd and even 3rd time. "Work and Travel" LLC takes students who want to try their luck one more time no matter what agency registered them earlier.
