Getting visa
The interview in Great Britain Embassy Centre and getting the visa
After the British college will have confirmed your participation in this programme and will have sent all the necessary documents for the further participation and for the interview, the hardest period begins – the preparation of the documents (certificates, application forms and other forms etc.) for the interview in the British Embassy Centre.
We will provide you with the list of the documents and the examples of their filling in and will help to prepare the documents and check if they were filled in correctly. The hardest thing is to convince the Visa Officer that you are not a potential emigrant.
When all the documents for granting visa are ready (originals (in Russian or Ukrainian) you have to translate in the Bureau of Translation, it’s not necessary to notarize the documents). All the package of documents you send us for the checkup in a scanned variant on the e-mail: natalie@work-and-travel.org.ua
After we have checked all the documents and correct them, if necessary, you can apply to the British Visa Centre, but you have to book beforhand.
The address of Visa Centre is:
Irininskaia street, 5\24, office 90, Kyiv 01034
(near the metro station “Majdan nezalejnosti”)
tel – 8 900 302 8900 – the number is paid
E-mail: info@ukvac-ua.com
Time when Visa centre is working
Time for applying – 8.30 – 12.00, 13.00 – 15.00
Giving back the documents: 16.00 – 17.00
You receive a student visa Tier 4
You can book beforehand on the site of the embassy http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/applyonline/ or over the telephone when there is a free day an time for applying. We recommend you to apply 8 weeks before the planned trip.
If you want to register on the site of the British Visa Centre to appoint the dates and time of the interview, the client has to have the following information:
- his e-mail address
- passport (international)
- the route - the place of destination, the desired date to begin the programme
- the address of you future living in great Britain, the address of the college
*Nota bene: the forms for the embassy must be filled in and datelined before the date of you Embassy visit, but preferably the same month.
The client has to come to the British Embassy Centre in Kyiv at the appointed date and time. You have to have all the documents according to the list (the list of the documents we will provide you after the registration). The time which will be needed to look through your case depends on your documents and usually the results will be ready in 3-4 days by the phone. Though, the time for consideration can take even longer, if there will need more time for examining of your documents. You should apply with the whole package of documents at once, as sometimes the Visa Office take the decisions without your presence.
By the individual interview you will be asked questions in English, usually they are connected with the programme you are participating in, your family, previous trips, but generally, they can ask anything (for example, what do you expect from life?, or what is your favourite book?).
Try to be calm, confident, smile, answer clearly and with good knowledge of English the questions. The interview looks like an examination – you go there, with good understanding of the programme and about what you have to (we will try to prepare you for this remarkable day). If you didn’t hear or didn’t understand the question, ask again polite. Your main aim – is to try to win the confidence and sympathy of the Visa Officer.
